As part of the Bureau of Indian Affairs 2018 Tribal Resilience Program, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) are currently undertaking a comprehensive climate adaptation planning process.

This planning process employs the "Collective Impacts" model to better understand climate threats and galvanize adaptation efforts throughout tribal departments and programs. Through a series of meetings and workshops organized by the Climate Change Advisory Committee (CCAC), tribal stakeholders and participating experts have worked to plan and develop implementation actions to address threats, and develop monitoring and evaluation metrics to assess progress towards adaptation planning using best management practices.

This work provides a foundation for the development of a more detailed and robust Climate Change Strategic Plan capable of addressing the growing threat of climate change.
